Lightbulb PeerCast P2P Relay Setup

It was asked how to use PeerCast by djtriz so here is some info on...

Setting Up A Relayed Stream from JetCast To PeerCast P2P

It is possible to direct a single stream from JetCast to PeerCast. This single stream will support many more streams on the network due to the nature of P2P systems. When your JetCasting you can also stream to PeerCast at the same time.
Your live JetCast link such as 'http://12.34.56.78:9000' is used to connect with PeerCast.

You need PeerCast Client Its only about 160k dowload and no setup required.

There is a Windows & a Linux version of the PeerCast client available.

Once installed you only need to left click on the Icon in the 'task bar' and click on 'Advanced' and then 'GUI'
Here you add your IP a Password (use the same as in JetCast) and check the tick boxes for 'Server & 'Connect

Them click the 'Advanced' button on the GUI then click on 'Broadcast

In the form fill in your URL (JetCast Station link)
Station Name,
Discription,
Genre,
Contact (Station page URL)
Bit rate
Type (mp3, Ogg, WMA, etc)

Then click 'Create Relay'

You should now be connected to the PeerCast Network and your station will show in the 'Relayed Channels' page.
Dont forget to allow port 7144 (PeerCast access port) in your Firewall.

Get the link to give listeners for your peerCast stream on the 'Broadcast' page.

Your PeerCast listeners will also need to download and install the PeerCast client in order to listen via the P2P Network.

There is a tech forum and more info at PeerCast

I hope this info helps. If you have any more questions please post them in this thread.

<~~~EDIT~~~>

If anyone is confused by this explanation here, Im working on a detailed 'How2' page of Information for relaying a stream to PeerCast from JetCast server so when its set I'll post a link here if thats OK with Jet & the techs

NeTo has passed the judgement!
The tutorial looks really nice. I know several jetcasters will thank you for your effort!

Thanks NeTo
It was a late night edition I knocked up,
Id been doing some Direct Connect 'How2's' for PeerCast using Ogg & mp3 formats and then thought Id do the 'How2' Realy one aswell.

When I've learnt a little bit more about using JetCast I'll do a 'How2' JetCast aswell.

Thanks again and glad you like it

PeerCast Relay Information
Nice tutorial on setting up Peercast for Jetcast broadcasters! I had some problems at first, but I finally made the connection. When I pulled up the "broadcast" page from Peercast, I was inputting http://24.69.255.203:9000 and the relay was coming up with errors and wouldn't make the connection. When I started JetAudio and pulled in my station, I noticed my URL was 24.83.175.146:9000. I then went to my Peercast folder and deleted the ini file because it had logged all the errors and restarted my machine. Then I went back to Peercast and inserted that URL in the broadcast info and pressed RELAY and by George it worked! The little icon down in the taskbar shows my station and song info with a pop-up balloon. It's cool! This should give us more coverage. I hope I can support a steady stream when it gets busy... Thanx from Jephro... PS - I am a 55 year old musician and I create tunes on my computer. Having my station (TRANCEFUSION: Internet Radio) allows me to Broadcast one of my own tunes once in a while. It's great times we live in. I must be a weird guy-eh?
