Hi, everybody

Today released new (cool !) music format - Mp3 Surround. I wait when JetAudio Inc. add this format to JetAudio.

I count on JetAudio Inc.

creative does this as well

My creative Audigy zs does this recording format. It sounds great, very hard to find anything that can edit these files as of yet. The biggest draw back is the size...man..this file can get huge. I normal mp3 song, will get to be around 320 megs per song.

It comes out to be:
bitrate 13834
channels 6
sample size 24 bit
sample rate 96 kHz

I wish it was a directshow filter, we could be using it in JA.

I understand that there is an SDK for the new mp3 surround sound encoder mentioned above...maybe JA is working on it now...

just my 10cents..

NeTo has passed the judgement!
The format is in its infancy yet, probably if it popularity rises Directshow filters and/or jetaudio support will come.

I thought it was just like a multichannel mp3, why the big sizes? Can't you choose the old mp3 bitrates?

size is huge

I have noticed the same thing..I was doing a 6 channel wave format from creative Audigy zs and a single mp3 converted came out to around 335 megs. So far I dont have anything that can edit them, mainly because they are locked in at 96 khz.

With everything going HD, we need to be looking at better audio formats, wma's sound great, but not many 3rd party progies out there to handle them besides minor conversion programs.

My biggest problem is dealing with around 4,000 mp3's...just trying to get them in a nice sounding format...multi channel mp3's are fine...been using around 160 in variable rate...they come out pretty good.

I was also playing around with nero's digital format, the mp4. They sound just as good as a mp3 does to me...and not many players can play mp4 though.

With all the new digital formats coming out or at least making its way to main stream users, we should be getting some great sounds come out of them soon.
