Just wanting forum member opinions on whether or not the PLUS for JetAudio is worth it.

How much do you usee the special features like the equalizer in recording or the trimming?

I'd like to here you experience on what features are the best to get or are they all worth it?

So in response, the correct response from me would be, is it worth it to YOU? Its your money, then it becomes your software (sort of).
There are many added feature in the Plus version.
Say, for example, most of your digital music is in MP3 format and you wish to keep it that way, or MP3Pro. That alone may be worth the cost.
Say you own, or are contemplating buying a portable digital music player (say maybe one of JETs), most reproduce MP3 or WMA format (not sure about IPod), then the Plus version would certainly be an addition well worth the outlay to expand your listening pleasure beyond your PC. Say you really like to experiment with musical tracks, then the Plus version would be worth it.

Personally, I dont have the "Plus" version, yet. Currently, I am unemployed and there are many other things that take priority of the little monies I do have ( house, utilities, kids, food, kids, school, kids) but as soon as that situation ends, Plus version is on top of my "Must Have" software list.

From what I have seen in the past, I would not be worried about spending the cash, then have the software updated, changed or improved and yet again have another fork over of the money. It seems that Jet takes care of there customers offering a free upgrade (or a minimum cost upgrade) for their Plus users.

If Jet Team does as good a job on the "plus" features as the have on the freebies, then the money would not be wasted.

You asked for an opinion, I gave you one. Remember my first line, ... is it worth it to YOU? For me, it will be soon.

The only features I use in PLUS are probably the MP3 encoding functionality and 32-bit output.

Special Sound Effect (BBE): I don't use it because I like to listen to the "original sound" of the music

Sound Pack: Still not sure what DRC and Dynamic limiter do, so I don't use this pack as much.

Enhanced Recording Pack: I don't do much recording work, so......

Application pack: Doesn't sound very useful to me

This is just me. Whether the PLUS version is worth it or not depends on your usage.

Special Sound Effect (BBE): I use it from time to time, but it's a bit off sometimes. I can't stand BBE Viva because everything sounds nasty somehow. BBE MP on the other hand sounds pretty good on a lot of files. But sometimes it absolutally kills music (e.g. Andrew WK sounds really really bad). It might sound absurd, but it sounds good on classical music - you seem to have way more clarity and I like it a lot!

Sound Pack: Hmmm, I haven't tested them much but IMHO they are not too much good.

Enhanced Recording Pack: This is a really really good feature pack for me.
We are getting a new car soon without a casette deck but with a CD deck. I now have to digize all our tapes for my mum  and before it was not very nice - you always had to be there to start and stop the recording, but not I just set the timer on JetAudios record, activate silence detector and I press play and go away for however long I want and know that my hard disk won't be killed by über-sized wav files.

Application pack: The Audio Trimmer is a neat feature, but isn't very powerful at all. The Audio Mixing recorder is of no interst to me.

Of course MP3 encoding is good!

EDIT: I just noticed why Andrew WK sounds bad with BBE MP:
Andrew WK sounds shit and that's why BBE MP somehow tries to fix Andrew WK, it tries and tries and it manages to do something.

But the problem is that BBE MP doesn't know that Andrew WK is supposed to sound shit. That's the magic behind the guys music. It's shittieness makes it good!

Ergo: BBE MP fails ...

Hehe, I have always wante to use Ergo in one of my posts! :D :D :D

This is Andrew WK:

Haven't noticed differences when using the new bbe effects... Any particular thing needed to notice any differences with these 2 options?

BBE Viva: http://www.bbesound.com/technologies/BBE%5FViVA/
BBE MP: http://www.bbesound.com/technologies/BBE%5FMP/

MP adds more treble and viva is like a "wide" effect somehow.

lol was about to post & say nevermind... today was the first time I got to crank up my system since I bought the expansion pack.
For JA5 plus owners the only pack we needed to buy was the bbe pack right? The other stuff came with it right?

BTW Viva rocks.

I'll throw in my 2 cents. I've been using JA since 1998 or ealier WAY back and love it. I have been using iTunes ONLY becuase I've bought a lot of music off the itunes store. I still use JA for all my video files etc.

I see there is a new version so I get the upgrade download (I had JA5 PLus) and it looks like it's missing all the extension pack stuff? And the web site is confusing as to what it will cost me as a JA 5 Plus owner to get the FULL JA6Plus.

In answer to the original question of is it worth it, my vote is yes. Even if there were no additional features, I'd still pay. When this app first came out (www.cowon.com - 1997?) and I started to email the developer. He was always happy to hear my feedback and some of the ideas even made it into the product! Version after version it keeps getting better. Where else can you find that type of software for that cheap (or FREE!). Throw away Windows Media Player, burn Real ONE, use iTunes to buy music then convert to MP3 to play in JetAudio!

Ok, maybe it was more than 2 cents worth...

Good point there. I'm also one of tjose all fans. I always was admired on how bugs got fixed from user feedback. As it happened recently with jetCast, when the filter bug was fixed in a few days with feedaback from users.

Btw, about the upgrades. If you have 5 plus then, after upgrading to 6, you should have all expansion packs except BBE. BBE MP/Viva are the only features that plus doesn't have, since it's the only pack that is sold separately (due to licensing reasons).

If you downloaded the 6 plus upgrade and you're missing the MP3/Sound effect/Recording or Tools extension packs then you may have a corrupt installation of jetAudio in your systems.

Nope, jetAudio does not have an iPod plugin as far as I know. jetAudio does not support the iPod. If anything jetAudio would support the iAUDIO, but not even that has happened yet.
