Can anyone help me. I have just finished reviewing musicmatch v8. I rearly cant make up my mind (so some help please) on the pros and cons for the individual players (as a whole.) I know Jetaudio has Real codecs and is able to record radio streams. What else can make me choose one above the other ????? Or should I run both ? Conflict problems there what as we all know as they will fight for their right to play your files.

Well, I've been using (and still am) MMJB for quite some time and I believe I can give you a short pro/con list:

MMJB:
pro
Easy to use - ppl are used to the track list; click drag format when it comes to playing tracks/albums, etc

Ease of use while using tags, very easy to sort and filter w/ tag (ie, alternative, rock, pop)

Tag editor - build in tag editor is very simple to use and in fact I still use it for its mass tagging.

con
BIG, MMJB has become so big that memory wise, its slowing down; I've got 10K+ tracks and MMJB bogs down ALL THE TIME

No free audio streaming

JetCast/Audio
pro
Slick, very compact runs great out of the box!

small footprint (@ least on my machine)

very easy to use; quick to set up and get going

Built in Chat room for your broadcast station; cool!

con
The use of playlists threw me off, not toooo used to using those, but am getting the feel for it

Can also be sluggish when having tracks @ 10+ range, but not AS slow as MMJB

JetCast doesn't auto-tie in to JetAudio, meaning, all my playlists that I've created and am using, must be exported to dr so that I can import in to JetCast for use in broadcasting. There should be a hook/tie-in/something to ease this pain... :)

Jet Audio - total number of tracks, doesn't display over 10,000, its listed as 10... very annoying

Jet Audio - no direct link to your JetCast, would be nice to have a hook to switch instead of just the icon to take you to the webpage (which IS cool BTW)

JetAudio/JetCast together causes issues - make sure you have PLENTY of memory else your system will slug it out...

----

Other than that, I have a short list for pro's and con's, the only real advice I can say, is force yourself to use JetAudio, have it install, take over all your properties, thus making you use it and see for yourself, I've been working w/ it for a week and I have really little to complain about.

I'm getting used to playlists and have been creating album and all tracks per each group, and all tracks (total), set to random and you have a great time.

This product, if advertised properly on all of our homepages, track tags, could be a boon. The ability to stream is WONDERFUL! I already have it streaming on my home network, my children are able to tune in to "children" and "classical" music, 24/7 whenever they want; my computer I'm streaming 24/7 1980's style (I'm stuck in the 80's, what can I say), and have had great conversations on the chat boards.

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!
