Is it just me or do wma files sound corrupted? I've got JetAudio version 6.00 and haven't been able to update to 6.02 yet, but I've noticed that quite a few wma files sound a little corrupted in JetAudio (i can relate it to the crackle of a record... it doesn't really crackle but like every few seconds it goes real loud for a split second). On a few of them it's not really noticeable on a few of them but... particularly on "bring me to life" it's real annoying... it can't be that i've downloaded from kazaa and it's screwed up the files either cause that song's a rip from the proper CD... a rip that sounded fine on JetAudio 5 and still does on Windows Media Player...
LOL I am sorry if it sounds like i'm babbling... it's just I really like JetAudio and never was able to find a fault with the old one, and hate WMP :'(

No its not just you. Its just your settings.
Experiment enough and you will get them sounding great like jetAudio always does.
Preferences/Sound/DRC - slide way left or turn off - mainly for movies
This setting combine with wide effect or bbe viva can make some pretty funky music.
Other settings to note: Preferences/Advanced/Player/Directshow Player/ configure-sound- " Use Sound Effect Filter "
More settings: Preferences/Advanced/Input/WMV9-configure- "DynamicRangeControl "
I was a little bit confused myself at first. But all the features are part of what makes jetAudio very good.

Hmm the problem with that is I'll need to shell out for those extra features.... and I have absolutely no money at the moment... Oh well looks like I will have to put up with version 5 for now until I get earning money again :-(
Maybe this should be fixed in the program? Like I said wma files sound totally fine in v. 5 so obviously there must have been something they made a mistake in... infact come to think of it I don't see why I need to shell out the money for those features when my sound card creates superb effects... but maybe this is the wrong place to be saying that :p
Anyways thanks

I think Jestify was suggesting you to turn off those features, so if you don't have them, then you shouldn't worry for them ;)
You may try going to Preferences->Advanced and:
* Choose Highest or Above normal for file playback (or normal, if it isn't selected)
* Going to the Output section. Click sound card config, and change from DirectSoud to WaveOut (or viceversa), and/or increase the buffer.
What sound card is the one you have?
Well the first setting I meantioned and BBE VIVA are the only 2 I mentioned that's not in the basic. I still believe your hearing exactly what I did and need to experiment with the settings. Thats all I did and the sound got better. Maybe I was wrong about it being the drc and changed some others, there is a few of them. Don't rely on jetAudio's mixer panel to control your sound card either, I got a Santa Cruz card and it says my equalizer is off when it's on, and vice versa. If you have plenty of soundcard effects make sure you set them via it's own control panel. Mute the reverb type of effects, and any echo cancelation don't use it. I still use direct sound out threw my card also. But we have seen in this forum another person saying he needed wave out like neTo is suggesting you try. And if you realy beleive there's a problem with the free older basic version you have and don't have the lastest 6.02 yet. Well I got one thing to say about that and that is what the hell you doing posting this negative crap before getting the lastest one GEEZE. Now get the lastest version and set it up right. But if you wanna give up that's your lose. I'm Done here.
