Hi all,

Had an M3 for several years now, hasn't been the smoothest ride, but I still like the design etc.

Atm however, I can't access any of my songs, they just don't show up on the menu any more, infact nothing is there expect the basic files, e.g. voice, record etc etc.

Just thinking about it now, I did knock it off a table the other day onto a fairly hard tiled floor, from about 1m height.... not good I am guessing!

HD still says it is pretty much full, 18.3GB out of 18.6GB, but nothing is there. Can still turn on fine and connect to computer fine, but obviously something is wrong?

Does this sound like permanent damage? I can seem to format the hard drive to start again if this would help... any ideas on what to do, is it toast?

Cheers

Does not sound good, indeed. Disk drives are not happy with that sort of shock (probably 500-1000G, depending how hard the floor is and whether it was in a case).

What do you get if you connect it to a PC and then run a CHKDSK on it? (in XP, start, run CMD, and then CHKDSK <drive letter:>). Don't use the /F (fix it) command the first time, jsut see what XP sees (or doesn't see).
