Hi!!!
I like your Jetaudio program a lot! and Hadnt have problems until recently. When I want to see .ram videos in the jetAudio. I received a windows saying I need to dowload some Realmedia runtime files in order to play/create this kind of videos.
I choose download (yes) and then the Jet Audio jut freeze. This also happen when I wanted to see avi videos.
It seems that, everytime that jetAudio has to download something from the internet it just "freezes" up... :(
Can someone help?
Ishia
Hi there,
I'm guessing you don't have Realplayer One or anything like that installed on your system. If you don't have this installed you really wanna have a look at Real Alternative that can be found here:

I have real alternative, but jetaudio 6 still won't play ram files. I get the message telling me to download the runtime files. So my question is anyone know what files I'd need to copy from the real alternative folder to the jetaudio folder?
I don't think that you will be able to copy the files from real alternative into the jetAudio folder to be honest (or it would be more bother than it's worth). Why don't you just let jetAudio download the files?

Because right now I'm on dial up and since I've already installed the codecs once I think its a little redundant to download them again. Not to mention time consuming.

Oh, I feel your pain. Dailup ****s ...
I would try around with copying arounf the codec files, but ATM I am quite busy. I can give you a list of files in the C:\Program Files\JetAudio\Real directory though:

Well codecs, common and plugins can just be copied over from the real alternative install folder. But the three files in tools must be from jet audio. Sadly it won't work without those 3 files. So is there any chance someone could zip that folder and post it?

Here are the requested files. I hope it works for you.
EDIT: fixed link!
I've tried this and it failed for me.

Also if Real Alternative is installed jetAudio doesn't need any of these real files to play .ram files, it should and does on my system load real files in RA's folders to play them. So it's my belief you have a screwed registry, or RA , JA install and unfortunately I don't have the answer.
Would like you here your results though.

EDIT: Hey eXity do you think you could push for jetAudio Team to create a seperate download for these files? The dang update has froze on me 80% of the time also and I run almost all background task turned off as a rule. I have seen this post repeatedly in here also, so it seems to be very common problem. Atleast strongly complain about the dang update being screwed up. Thanks

That was the first thing I thought of so I uninstalled RA and reinstalled it, no luck. So I uninstalled JA and reinstalled it, no luck. What I'm going to do is uninstall both, use regseeker to eliminate all traces of them in the registry and then try again. This time making sure RA goes on my system first. Hopefully it works.
btw copying those files didn't help, I still get the message telling me to install the codec. Going around that I still can't play the ram files. Hopefully mine is just a buggy install, cause it worked great before I did my last computer format.

Sadly that didn't work. Guess I'll have to use Media Player Classic to watch Real clips.

eXity,
When I try and play some Real videos with JetAudio 6 Basic and with Real Alternative 1.23 installed it still says I need Real One installed.
Would you like a link to see if you can play the media I am trying with JetAudio and Real Alternative and see if it works for you?
RGDS & TIA

Sure, give us the link! As long as it's nothing illegal or Pr0n it's okay ;)

eXity,
The site iFilm has clips/previews etc. of movies and after choosing Real Player as the default viewer the initial Ifilm loads (although very jerky) and then JetAudio stops and does not play the actual clip selected.
FYI, similar things happens with Real Alternative except that after playing the initial ifilm ad that it just stops but you can skip ahead to get the clip selected but it does not work 100%.
Here is one sample link but like I mentioned I tried numerous on ifilm and none worked perfectly:

Anyway, thanks for the help.

I sympathise. Downloading stuff from jetAudia is the pits. Persevere. I managed to download their Real things and they work fine.
PS - I'd transfer them to you but they're a 10MB download - you need a persistent downloader like FlashGet (formerly k.a. JetCar, no connection with jetAudio!)
I am OK for runed real fires because of your orders. Thanks a lot!

Hey again,
Looks like it was due to my fiances lite speed ("up to 5x faster than dialup" connection as I tried the files here and they work 100%.
Regards & TIA
