View Full Version : Jet Audio and Norton Antivirus 2004
Autoprotect on norton makes jet audio lag so much, there's a 1 or 2 second gap after clicking a song, during which the program freezes, before jet audio actually plays it. It happens during video playback too, and it gets really annoying after a while. Not sure if its a jetaudio problem or a norton antivirus one though, other programs seem to run fine with autoprotect turned on :-\

What other media players do you use that runs fine with norton?
I am curious.
I never run a virus program in auto protect mode because The lag is in every program I've ever tried that with. Safe downloading, deleting all unknown mail, keeping cache clean along with spyware blaster, firewall, schedualed or weekly manual scans satisfies my fears.
I agree that Norton Antivirus (the 2002+ versions) are memory giants. But I never had any problems with autoprotect. You may want to check your autoprotect settings. Don't scan too much extensions, and don't use high heuristics.
Probably making a disk defragmation could also help to increase the hard disk accsess rates on both programs (NAV and jetAudio)
