Cannot select Custom Wallpapers

Greetings,

I am having an issues selecting a custom wallpaper.

This is how I have been trying to do it:

Setup > Display
Switch to the Wallpaper Tab
Arrow down to the Wallpaper entry
The current selection iitem s ticked as Don't Use
I am not able to arrow across to Use
When I press the control stick in, I get returned to the Setup screen

Do I have to have any the Wallpaper in any particular directory? Do they have to be any specific type of file? (8 bit BMP? 24bit JPG?)

I am running on the latest firmware 1.91F, but the same problem happened on the old firmware.

Ok, now I just feel stupid, but at least if I post this here, someone else might not have to go through the public humiliation.


You set wallpapers by going into the Photo section of the A2, selecting the image you want to use (but not opening it) press the A button and select Set Wallpaper.

i just got a PS3 today and i downloaded the new firmware and im wondering if you can use custom wallpapers? like the 360 and PSP..... on my psp you just select the pic and bam its there... how do you do it for ps3?
