I'm doing pre-sales research. I have many questions NOT answered by any online review or other forums.
Essentially I need a player capable of
- FLAC with id info
- HIGHEST audio quality
- expandable preferable
If it's video capable it should be able to stream from a samba share and H.264 would be great.
If Q5W + GPS I have even more questions. I live in the USA on the west coast. The Q5W + GPS combo will need to function both as a media player and feature competative in-car GPS to justify purchase.

I'm technically adept and not satisfied by mediocre quality. Audio fidelity is a must. I would gouge out my eyes before buying an iPod. Converting pristine audio into mp3 is a crime against nature.
Currently I use an xbox (not 360) as my home entertainment center with a sizable NAS. Its choking on H.264 (x.264) but streams most everything else nicely. Hopefully the Q5W will serve as a platform to take my tv episode to friends' houses for playback on their resepctive TVs.
I like to use things in ways other than intended. I will push your hardware to the limit of my imagination
