Okay, for the earphones:
How much are you willing to spend?

For the rechargable batteries:

I don't know if you will be able to find these in America, but I am very very happy with them! (Sanyo 800 mAH AAA)

For the charger I would recommend this one:

My sister has this model and it keeps the batteries in excellent shape!

Does the brand make much difference when it comes to the 800mAH rechargeables? I noticed that the Radio Shack here in town has a few sets, but didn't know if they would be worth the $$ in the long run.

It certainly made a great difference to me.

See: I also have a seconf charger that has a little display tha shows you info on your batteries. It can also display how much power is still left in them after your player can't continue using them any more. My GP 750 mAH batteries still usually had 50-70 mAH left in them after my iAUDIO spits them out again. The Sanyos I have now only have 10-20 mAH left in them after they come out of my player.

So, In my opinion it would be worth another extra few dollars, especially because they will probably last you at least a year!

eXity, although I've already ordered a pair of 800mAH GP batteries, could you please tell me if that ebay seller ships to the UK, just in case I decide to buy a pair of sanyo ones in the future?

Thanks

Yeah, but you have to contact him first. He *should* understand english, so that shouldn't be a problem!

Is that like saying all of my foreign-born professors here in the States "should" know how to speak/understand English? Because I know a few of them that couldn't pass a remedial English quiz. ;)

No, it's just that most people in Germany have learnt basic english in school. But the basic english you learn in school is pretty crappy ssometimes (depending on the school), so that you never know. You might also get someone who has run through higher education and whos english is significantly better :p

I understand what you mean eX, I'm sure other countries think the same about our foreign language classes (French, Spanish, etc).

About the professors, I had just spent several hours listening to instructors from India and Brazil trying to explain Organic and BioChemistry to a class of Nonchemistry majors. Needless to say, there was more than one language barrier in that room. :D

McD

BTW are you by chance at school in Germany?

I knew you lived there, ya smart@ss! ;)

I just didn't know if it was for school, work or military.

I have a buddy thats studying Physics in Göttingen, apparently it kicks his butt 24/7, but he's a glutton for punishment.
