I'm using Windows XP. When I bought my D2, it had firmware version 2.50 installed. I am trying to upgrade to Version 2.57. However, I can't get past step One. The instructions say to copy d2.bin to the root directory on my D2. Well, the file in my 0 folder is d2N.bin, not d2.bin, but I suppose they are the same. Also, my root directory is called "Internal Storage." Again, I suppose they are the same. The problem is that I cannot copy anything to the Internal Storage folder (root directory). It has one music track in that folder which came with the D2. I can copy that file out of the folder to another folder. But, I cannot copy the d2N.bin file INTO that folder. I don't seem to have any trouble copying files into the folders in Internal Storage (Flash, Music, Pictures, podcastready, Record, Test, and Video). It's just that root directory which seems to resist receiving files.

Any ideas regarding the cause of my problem?

I downloaded D2_2.57.zip from the D2 section of the Cowon website in November.

As I mentioned in my initial post, my current version of the firmware is 2.50. That's the version which came installed in my new D2.
