Voice recording question

I have 2 questions regarding the voice recording:

1. Can you use an external microphone through the line-in jack for voice recording?

2. If you can, does it support voice activation?

This seems like a great player, and if it can support the above then it's perfect for my needs. The only thing that could be better was if it had a remote control and an SD memory card slot for future memory upgrade!!

1. You can only use microphones that are powered by an external source. Passive microphones don't work.
2. Voice active would probably not be supported seeing that you would be recording through the line in mode and not the mic mode.
