6 seconds after starting a WAV recording to a Hard Disk with 93Gb free, I get an error "error occured during recording: -950". I'm running a HP AMD 3000+ system with 512M memory.

You could check what jetAudio team posted about this problem. Follow the instructions, and if you still have problem you could post your specs in order to look for a solution.
