i renamed all my music folders to lower case as the M3 kept putting them different order if i had mixed upper and lower case folders, but even though windows shows all the folders are lower case then M3 still shows some of them in upper case putting out of alphabetical order.

any ideas?

here you can see the difference between what the remote says and what windows think the folders are.

having mixed upper and lower is throwing the albums out of alphabetical order.

Maybe the player has still stored the folder name with upper case in the TOC (Was that the standard behaviour in FAT16?).

Probably moving the folder to your hardrive and then back to the M3 could work by now.

you were right about fat16 idea.
i noticed all the folders in CAPITALS were folders of 8 characters or less.

copying off the drive and back didn't work but add a few underscores to push the name over 8 characters did make it turn lowercase.

so i guess this means it's a bug in the firmware, i'll email cowon about it.
