A3 white screen

Hi just got an A3 yesterday and when transfering some files my A3 went to a white screen and will not get off of it. I dont know if it is a low battery thing or the HD failed on it. I have attempted to reset it, and since my PC no longer detects it I am unable to update or reinstall the firmware. Any ideas?

Yes i got my cowon a3 a few days ago, and when transfering i get the same problem. Is because the low battery conect the a3 to the plug.

I own an A3. It sounds as if it was left plugged into a usb to charge for too long and the white screen of death has claimed it. The other thought that crossed my mind is possible water damage. Years ago, I had one that went for a swim in a creek. It too would glow a white screen when plugged into the charger. Good luck.

i've got an iaudio a3 60gb, when i turn it on it shows a blank white screen. i've used the reset button, it shuts down. when i try to turn it on again , same white screen.
i've sent it before with the same problem, and when i got it back i've been told that it just needed a fw update.

Recently my Cowon A3 won't turn on, but when I have it charging via the adapter the screen flashes white. I've done a lot of reading and tried leaving it for a while and recharging it with the adapter but no luck. If it's plugged in with a USB connection my computer will not recognize it as being connected so I can't edit the firmware or format the drive, ect.

I've opened it and unplugged the battery, checked for anything obvious but don't see anything. I'm thinking the next step is getting a new battery.

Has anyone had this before with their Cowon A3?
