I installed that latest OS, version 2.41

I can't figure out how to connect my bluetooth headset. I enter the bluetooth menu, and it is blank.

Any hints?
Thanks,
Trond

Bluetooth connection should be in Settings menu. From there, choose Bluetooth then turn on the Bluetooth transmitter by touching the second option from the left at the bottom of the screen (Bluetooth symbol). After that, press the locate Bluetooth button (the leftmost choice). Make sure your headset is turned on. The player should list your headset once it finds it. There might be a button on headset that needs to be pressed in order to pair it with a device. Once the headset is located it should ask you for the pairing code (usually 0000). If the code is different for your headset, press the rightmost button at the bottom of the screen and enter the code.

Hope this helps.

Ennex,

Thank you, this was really helpful.

I have the devices paired now, but some more homework to do with my hearing device controller to get it to hear the music. It has a number of programs, automatic, bt phone, and so forth. But that's not an S9 issue.

Am I correct, once the bt devices are paired, and bt is on, if I play music it is broadcast over bt?

Thanks,
Trond

From what I recall, the one time a tried paring my S9 with an old set of Creative Labs headset, yes. I'll try it again just to make sure. You may want to download and install the new 2.5 firmware as Cowon's added some improvements to Bluetooth pairing and compatibility.

I connect my bluetooth headphones all the time, after you find it the first time, you don't really have to do anything. Just turn on the headphones into pairing mode, then turn on the S9, and they will find each other automatically, and you can listen to the music or movie you're playing.

Mine didn't even ask for a code, so I don't know about that.

I'm a little confused about the suggestion to upgrade firmware to 2.5. I downloaded firmware recently, installed, and it is version 2.41. ???

I should be more specific, perhaps - my bluetooth earphones are actually bluetooth hearing aids. The bluetooth controller allows me to pair with my phone, and there is also provision for bluetooth music. I have no trouble pairing with my phone, but still haven't succeeded to get the S9 to play music through bluetooth.

Maybe I should try pairing in the phone mode, since I know that works.

Thanks for your thoughts,
trond

FYI, version 2.5 is available on the site now.
