Help no connection when plug in usb cable

I have had this mp3 player for 3 days and it worked fine for the first 10 mins then when I unplugged it then went to plug it back in the screen was blank nothing I do works I have uninstalled and re installed the programs . I rang the company that I purchased it from and they said that because I have windows 98se i am going to have problems and that I should come to this site to ask for help or upgrade my windows to xp. I am not very computer savy so if you have any suggestions please do so in dummies language. :confused:

Does the iAUDIO4 show up in the windows explorer. You do not actually require jetShell (the Program) to use your iAUDIO.

Try plugging the iAUDIO 4 into a different USB port and try installing the drivers again from the CD.
