Received my 1Gig IAudio G3 a few days ago as a XMas gift to myself :D
First off- I just got into this MP3 player scene recently with the purchase of a Creative MuVoTxFM for my gym work-outs. I got tired of the constant FM radio advertisement interruptions to music. The MuVoTXFM is a very good unit- I love it. Loved it so much , that it spurred my interest in a "next level" unit - so I got the G3.
The G3 is a good unit for the gym/exercise. It comes with a clear case with a belt loop that fits my MuVoTXFm's sports arm band perfectly. I just got back from the gym and a 1.5 hour work out.
The G3 sounds very good teamed with my Sony MDR-EX71SL ear plugs. Volume goes from 0-40. However, beyond about 32-34 I get distortion. I believe this can be adjusted out using all the equalizer features. It is somewhat a mute point, given that volume above 30-32 would probably not be good for your hearing
Differences between the MuVoTxFM and the G3 ? Mainly sound volume and quality (duh).
I did not test out the FM radio at the gym. It works great at the house.
The G3's size is not an issue for me. It is only a little bigger than the MuVoTxFM which is a very small unit.
So far- the G3 seems to be a nice MP3 player. I will post more as I get a few more hours of listening under the belt. As a newbie to MP3 players- all I can say is how amazing to get such quality sound from such small devices.
The G3 is upscale- but the Creative MuVoTxFM is an outstanding choice for daily duty/chores/workouts. I may end up with a 3rd unit for kicks ( maybe an I5 ?).
