View Full Version : Add your bugs here 6.1.1.6211 Plus Upgrade or Basic
Well I titled this thread the way I did because I have no doubt the version will soon change. So everyone maybe should place bugs here for this version.
I'd like to also say Thanks to jetAudio Inc. The editions are very welcomed here.
Bug (1);
Useless uninformative error popup when clicking .ram (old version 8 files I think), .rm (last years videos from Real Inc. themselves), .m4a ( lc-aac, made from itunes lastest 4.71), .mp4, (lc-aac and he-aac made by nero's 6.6.0.6). All files play anyway after clicking the ok button on the error popup. iTunes, QT, and Nero's lastest installed. Seems only Qt's runtimes load for playback though or jetAudio's real runtimes. This system has never had any other real player installed. Another thread confirming this here> http://www.jetaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3770
Bug (2);
Not really a bug , just annoys the crap out of me. Might as well use WMP since it don't remeber video color adjustments either after file's end.
The mouse wheel brightness adjust is somewhat an attempt to make up for this I guess.
Anyway Thanks jetAudio Inc for implementing your way so far.
Bug (3);
Maybe bug or maybe just windows being... well being windows lol. Can't get jetAudio to take over .mp4 file extension. I have recently let Nero's Showtime claim it, and now it won't let it go. I will eventually go to windows file type and change it myself. But you have it in jetAudio, so I'm sure you would like to check and see why Showtime might not want to give it up. I do have all Nero's and QuickTimes, and iTunes start-up and services disabled. Phew should I use anymore ands....LOL
Enough for now...Someone else may continue on with their bugs.
P.S. I did install the plus upgrade over the top of old 6.0.6.4806. And.... WinXp Sp1A, Turtle Beach SantaCruz 5.12.1.4193, Radeon 9200 6.14.10.6497, Catalyst 4.12, DirectX9.0c, WMP10.

I like the idea, so I'll leave this as an sticky for now. Hope the devs (if they are around) can save some time and quickly see which bugs are casuing problems to users.
Bug (4):
Add to album dialog appears for each file in the convertion window, and can't be disabled. Specially annoying when you are converting several files in the background. More info in this thread
Bug (5):
Old annoyance is back. I and lots of others will go to preferences and make changes before making them in GUI, and if I turn off " Multichannel Sound " before turning it off in GUI it will be stuck as ticked on.
Bug (6):
Hum... How to descride this one? With Player always ontop selected. Minimize goes to tray instead of taskbar or sometimes is sending player to bottom left of screen right above my taskbar as a minimized title bar.
Have to right click tray icon and select goto tray then restore to bring focus back or double click the tray icon about 4 times. Playlist is in autohide and WinXP sp1a visuals set for max performance (no theme).
Jetisfy
- The progress bar is out of sync when opening a RA (real audio) file. But if you minimize to tray, pause and restart from there, it gets in sync
- Ocassionally, full-screen playing of video, is displaced downwards as if "respecting" the toolbar mode slice of the upper border of the desktop (without it being on)
I guess these are problems of the skins rather than of the underlying program. I've tried with the updated Default Silver and Default Silver Mini
Otherwise the new features are very good and long expected (MP4s, aspect ratios)
Let's hope the small bugs get ironed out soon. Whatever the bugs, JA is great
I see algr has BUG 7 and 8 ahead me here so mine is 9.
Bug (9):
I set an album to repeat all. Instead it pick 3 out of the 12 ( tracks 1,4,6) in the album to keep repeating playback when I didn't want it too. I did have Program checked though and I noticed the three repeating songs were selected and moved to right pane (program list) in edit program window. I "DID NOT" pick and move any songs to program list. So this just happened on its own.
Bug (10):
When opening file in explorer option in preference set to "clear playlist then add to default" I click a file in explorer window ( sencond hard drive ) and opened playlist to check it and yet the album files were still listed and not cleared like option suggest it should have done. This occured right after dicovering BUG (9).
Bug (11):
When opening file from explorer folder option set to " add to [[playlist-file open]]"
I had 10 lossy's encoded ( same song, experimenting with the version on codecs implented in jetAudio, thanks for version 1.10 and 1.15 :)) in various formats all by jetAudio. I click them1 by 1 till I got to last 1 (file 10). Then Attempted to start over from first file and play them again by clicking in explorer window. BUTTTT I guess since they were all added to playlist already each time I click a different file the last one of the 10 files in folder I originaly played kept starting and repeating itself. "Bug (11)".
Oh yeah repeat all was checked and also program with playlist set top autohide.

Before I list the bugs, thanx goes to jetTeam for fixing a lot of bugs in jetAudio including lyric window background (now It looks nice), the wierd "balance slider moving while changing volume". And the long expected "fast pop-up menus" is on of the best thing. The list can be pretty long...and BBE effects are included too (in the Plus version I think).
Bug (11): It's a minor bug. The "song info" portion in jetAudio displays next songs album name while showing(and playing) current song. It occurs just before next song will begin. At 5sec remaining or at X-fade time + 5sec,
artist/album format (if displayed at that time or click the arrows to display it) displays album name of next song and artist name of current song. This is for only 5 seconds, I guess. (See Attachment: Do you think "Best of Bon Jovi" album is by "Linkin Park"?!)
Bug (12): Set "no repeat" and "Continue to next album"
Now when you reach the last song in the album jetAudio should load the next album after finishing current song. But, Click the "Next Track" before that last song ends and you'll see that the next file from the next album is loaded, everything showing that next song IS loaded, the player goes to pause mode (yeah, automatically) and what worse, click play and you'll see that jetAudio plays(actually Resumes) "That last song" and you have to press "Next" again to go to next song. Wierd.
Bug (13): I forgot to mention this bug (I found it long ago). Maybe it'd been fixed if I mentioned it earlier.
Set "No video border" while playing a video then drag the video window to any corner with "TaskBar" (Usually bottom). You'll notice that the window snaps to the edge and when you remove the mouse, the border disappears. Now move your mouse over the taskbar portion which is right below of the video window. See? how the borders just come and go? Very annoying.
Bug (14): This is a old bug. Play a song with Sync Lyric. Now if the next song has only picture in it's tag, no lyrics, then the lyric window of thaat Next Song will display picture of that song and title/artist of the prev song.
Bug (15): This is a old bug too. Timer gets reset if you change skin after starting the timer (sometimes Alarm too). Moreover, now that the toolbar system is intoduced, it causes same bug too. Start timer and switch (back) to (from) toolbar mode and timer stops. This thing needs an immediate fix.
Bug (6): This happens for me too. And what more, there's skin chooser and preferences button in that small title bar. Don't believe me? See the attachment. It's possible to bring up the skin chooser too (Generally, you can click those buttons but they won't work!).
CvP Thanks for pic post. You jetmini 2 jpeg is exactly what I decribed in Bug (6).

Maybe Bug (16):
In Playlist, click right mouse button->Basic Controls->Disc Mode. Now, you can select some driver (Basic Controls->Drivers).
But, always is selected first drive.
This bug is in older versions too.
(P.S. I'm sorry for my bad English)
When "Add black area..." in Extra Place/Position/Config Subtitle is selected for subtitle display, JetAudio will not calculate the correct size of display
This is not happen with 6.06

I did the upgrade to 6.1.2, but it still shows i have version 6.0.6.4806Plus. Does this mean it didn't upgrade or doesn't the version number change
I did the upgrade to 6.1.2, but it still shows i have version 6.0.6.4806Plus. Does this mean it didn't upgrade or doesn't the version number change
That most likely means that you didn't upgrade, as the version number chages after the update
On a sidenote, I'll be away for a week, and I don't know what to do about this thread. I think I will unstick it for now.
If you want to report 6.1.2.6217 bugs in the same way (a single thread) I think you can do so in a new thread or just edit this one. Ehm, I don't know, really :p
BUG (18)
100% CPU usage while adding big taged MP3 still exists
Adding (or Playing) files with large ID3 tags (contains large sized picture... usually BMP) takes an insane amount of time.
BUG (19)
Truck Horn!
Play a song with jetAudio. Launch a constant heavy resource hungry application (like Emulators [MAME or Kawaks])
Now when jetAudio won't get enough CPU resource cause other app is taking most of it. Then instead of break in constant playing of the song,
you'll hear some repeated sound or noise (like truck horn)
Yes, you can change jetAudio's priority to high to prevent break
but why would there be the "Truck Horn" even if it breaks while playing?
I never encountered this kinda problem in any other player.
BUG (20)
CD Audio hijack
This an old bug.
Expand the volume control panel
Set- CD-Audio volume setting > low
Set- Master volume setting > med
Set- jetAudio internal vol > max
Now go to Disk mode
Set- Analog CDAudio Playback (Digital mode- no problem)
Insert An Audio CD
Hit the play button (If no autoplay)
You'll see that CD-Audio setting is auto set to jetAudio's internal vol setting and Your speakers are shaking your house...
BUG (21)
Lyric change (click sound) bug (tested with unsync lyric)
While chaning songs you'll hear a "Click" sound if both current and new song have lyric and jetAudio automatically displays
lyrics. Actually the "click" sound is the sound you set for "Start Navigation" in your windows sound scheme(MyComputer>ControlPanel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Sounds).
jetAudio uses IE for displaying lyrics... now when new song starts to play jetAudio passes the Lyric path to IE and IE starts navigation to that path and you get the Click sound. (That's what I think)
BUG (22)
60% to 80% skip (tested with X-fade enabled)
When jetAudio is about to go to next song... right that moment select DIsk mode. Now go to file mode and hit play.
If you've done correctly, you'll see that jetAudio plays "that next song" from almost at the end i.e. skips first 60%-80%
BUG (23)
jump to 70%
This occured a few times but I don't know how to trigger it.
Clicked the "Go to tray button and the song which was playing
jumped to 70% and started to play from there.
BUG (24)
Old album restores
Start to play any song from your harddisk.
Exit jetAudio and run jetAudio again.
Now jetAudio has automatically selected the song you were playing and that album too.
Select a different album.
Go to disk mode
Go to file mode
jetAudio has selected the "old album" instead of the new "Differnt Album"
BUG (24)
Balance/Volume Bug (Snapshot included)
It's an old bug. I don't know what triggers it but here's a snap shot.
I just reduced the volume by draging the vertical slider but the horizontal siler (Balance)
automatically moved to left. When I reduced the volume to Zero, the balance automatically was centered.
It happens with master volume control (maybe Wave and others too).
BUG (25)
Eq (Snapshots included)
Change Skin to any and then Change back to current skin (going to toolbar mode and back will work too).
If the skin has "eq bar" (the rock pop jazz.... or Dance HP...) you'll notice it is displaying the wrong
eq bar. If you has rock pop jazz.... it'll be Dance HP... and vice versa.
Move you'r mouse over the eq bar and It'll reveal the Correct bar.
BUG (26)
BBE not restored
Click on the effect changer to display BBE and BBE ViVA effect slider.
Now change to a new skin and back.
You'll see that Wave and Reverb are selcted.
This doesn't happen for Wave-Reverb or XBass-XSurround.
BUG (27)
X-fade bug
Set X-fade level to very low (i.e. more lower than 2.5 secs)
Now when jetAUdio is playing songs, it'll
skip the next song then
play the "next next" song then
skip the "next next next" song then
Play the "next"x4 song... you get the idea...
The next song appears to fade in when it's time for it but then it fades out and "next next" song kicks in.
BUG (28)
Conversion/Recording bug
When I recorder that "distorted bug", I did it with jetAUdio's recorder and saved as wave file.
Then I converted those "waves" to mp3 with jetAudio's converter. But there's a error after conversion completes
saying that "conversion can't complete" error 109.
Then I had to convert it by another software which worked fine.
Now what I'm tring to say that I recorded with jetAudio and then jatAudio's converter produced error.
So, there's a problem in jetAduio's Recorder or in Converter (or both)...
Wave-44.1KHz PCM 16bit Stereo
mp3 -56kbps CBR HighSpeed Channels-Default
BUG (29)
I don't know what to call it... maybe "NO Title"
View the "No title"
I sent jetAudio to tray and after a second clicked the refresh button in explorer.
But look what appeared!!
This doesn't happen everytime but occur often.
Every BUG listed is tested by me and they occured more that once.
When adding files to the current playlist (from explorer) the file should be queued (this works) but the player should not jump directly to it, it should continue down the playlist.
