Sorry, another problem again.

I am using JetAudio 4.95 (the adware version) and it makes my Norton Anti Virus doing an extra high work load at the background (it's using up about 50% of my CPU usage).

Every time when I shut down my JetAudio, everythings go silent immediately.

Do anyone know what's going on ????

Have you got the latest virus definitions and what version of NAV is it?

May I ask why you don't use JetAudio 5.xx?

I heard of some similar problems with the version 2002. What version do you using and what for a certain process (name) uses the that amount of the CPU.

Thanks a lot for your response !!!!!!

I am using NAV 2003 & Win XP. The process that uses up most of my CPU is NAVAPSVC.exe

I'm still using JetAudio 4.X because I love the "REMOTE CONTROL" function so much that the 5.X version doesn't provide...

I love to have the JetAudio running all the time & won't take much space on my desktop (sorry but I don't want to have it here as a toolbar like the Windows Startup bar...)

Ok, first of all, I don't think it depends on NAV 2003 oder Win XP.
Generally, NAVAPSVC means Norton AntiVirus Auto Protection Service and that is a background task. Every time if you boot your machine, that task is also starting.
Furthermore, the Auto Protection is checking all the actions on your harddisk and for that reason your player too. And perhaps, your version of JetAudio 4.xx is creating some temporary files if it's started or during the replay process and AntiVirus is that checking.
Finally, I don't think that you can do a lot to solve that problem, but I am using AntiVirus 2003 too and also the JetAudio player (5.xx) and I had never problems with that process. Maybe you feel like to have a look on the on the notes with all the improvements of the new JetAudio 5.17 (http://www.jetaudio.com/download/jetaudio_rn.html) respective 5.18 (http://eng.iaudio.com/zeroboard/zboard.php?id=C11&page=1&sn1=&divpage=1&bmenu=c&sn=off&ss=on&sc=on&select_arrange=headnum&bmenu=c&desc=asc&no=1&bmenu=c).

If you solve the problem in a different way, please post it. ;)

What remote control function?

That's the one that looks like a remote control of a Hifi system.... sorry don't know how to describe it.... Once if you have the main component of JetAudio closed, you can still use the remote controller to access most of the functions.

Each of the components of JetAudio (e.g. CD player, Digital Audio Player, Midi Player...) has a shortcut button located at the top part of JetAudio Main Component and the Remote Controller has its button at the right side.

Oh..... Maybe I will seriously consider the 5.X version (but I really love the outlook of 4.XX !!!!!). Thanks a lot anyway and I will keep searching for another solution.

I will come back here if I see any relevant information somewhere else!!!

Hi!!!

I've just found out that there's a setting in the NAV 2003 Auto-protect to bypass some files (or folders).

Can you tell me the locations that are in use when JetAudio's running? Maybe I can put these files into the bypass list to reduce my CPU work load?

Sorry, but for the moment I am sitting in front of an other machine.
Anyway, try to put the whole folder where JetAudio is installed in the bypass feature of NAV.

I used to use the Remocon a lot, it was a pretty good feature at that time. You could now try JetAduio 5 with eXity's XAudio Mini Skin, since it very compact and looks nice on top of any program (i think its more nice and compact than the actual remocon). And you will gain better Rip/Burn/Conversion options, XSurrond, a new Decoder Engine....

I am sorry to hear this. If you put the whole C drive into the bypass feature and it is no difference then it must be an other reason.

Try the new version...

I've tried the JetAudio Ver. 5.17 !!!!
It works really fine !!!!

But I still have one more thing to ask & hope I won't sound too demanding....

Is there any chance to make JetAudio "disappear" in the task bar? I mean, just like in Ver. 4.XX, I can minimize the whole JetAudio & have the remote controller & the icon in system tray shown up only. That's so convenient.

Now I am using the Default Silver - Bar skin. That one is really cool !!!!
If I can have the JetAudio hidden in the task bar then it will be PERFECT !!!

You mean just have it appearing next to the clock - nothing else?

You can do this by pressing "Alt and F10" at the same time or just by clicking on the icon next to the minimize button ...

Not exactly...

I want the bar (my skin is a bar) to be here but nothing shows in the task bar...

Is it possible?

I don't think I can descript it clearly :) so I insert a pic of my desktop here :

Is possible that I hide the JetAudio window (indicated in red circle at the bottom) but still have the bar shown at the top ?

Ah, I understand you now!
No, that is not possible ... At least I haven't found an option for it yet. I have thought about that one quite a few times while skinning ...

Oh, nevermind if there's no such option. I used to hide the whole JetAudio leaving the remote only on the screen in ver 4.XX so I just wonder if it still works with ver 5.XX.

That's okay cos it's already so nice for you to help me so far !!!!

Big big thank you to you again !!!!!
