I recently bought a new pc that uses WIN XP. I installed the pgms, and, last Sat, WAS able to have a station up & running -- it even showed up on the Directory! (i was even using Jet Server!).

The VERY next day (nothing in my pc had changed), i could not get the station to show up. I recd NO error msgs, and the blue bar graph under MUSIC was moving, showing that it WAS transmitting. I checked & re-checked all my settings against the doc -- everything is fine.

But, it didn't appear in the directory!

I wrote tech support several times; they had me try several things (including NOT using the Jet Server), but i can't for the life of me get it to show up in the directory!

I read the manual several times, and everything is fine -- even the msgs i recv when i start broadcasting. it just doesn't show up!

I think that tech support has given up on me -- is there ANYONE out there who has successfully put up a station that could give me any tips/ideas? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

It's a Pentium 4, 2.6 Gig processor, 256 MEG RAM, 120 GIG hard drive, and uses Verizon DSL.

ANY help/suggestions ANYONE can give me would be GREATLY appreciate!

Thank you,

That's a strange problem. I don't know what to suggest, so don't laugh at these:

* Check if you have enabled the Windows Firewall (it can be check in the last tab of conexion properties). If you do, you should try with it disabled.

* Have you restarted your pc since the problem arose? (i know this might sound ilogical, but at least i leave my pc without restarting for weeks).

I completely turned off my Norton Firewall....IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, how can i config Jetcast and/or Norton to let it thru, BUT keep the firewall ON, so that nothing can get thru it (viruses, etc)?

Also, my station is called "Halloween Music".

under PREFS>STATION>DETAILS

i have <IMG SRC="http://www.nvogel.com/jack1.gif"> specified.

As you can see on the list, it's just a "square box", but the img IS on the server!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Good it worked! Luckily it wasn't a strange problem.

Check this thread for info about configuring Norton Firewall:

I've discovered that, by playing around with it, sometimes it DOES show up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing i recommend is to stop your firewall when you begin broadcasting.........then turn it back on.

About IMGs now showing up......I truly believe this is a problem on Jet Audio's side. The reason i say this is that sometimes my img doesn't show up (just the "box" where it should be)...........BUT, when this happens, i notice that one or two OTHER sides are doing the same thing!

About the firewall, i forgot to mention that you need to check the settings for jetcast anytime you do an update. Sometimes when the main components of NIS get updated some program settings get resored to the defaults.

Maybe the IMG don't showing up could be caused by a Server being busy or something similar.
