Just in case anyone is interested, CNET posted their review of the I5 recently. They scored it a 8 overall, praising the sound quality, but knocking it for the quality of line-in recording and caliming that the interace is clunky.

I am curious at how the line-in recordings of the I5 and U2 compare. I have assumed that the I5, G3, and U2 would encode identically with the same chipset.

I do agree that there is noticeable high frequency distortion in encodings on the I5.
