Hi mate, - please it might help with a bit more information about the problem. I don't know much about the problem - I think the pls file is not directing to the right url of the internet radio so you might double check you are broadcasting with specific or right ports and you might have to do port forwarding if you have a router (opening ports) Good luck mate :) Hope I can help

Ok i willl try to explain the problem beter.
I have a own radio with jetcast. I wanted to test if my radio works so i searched for my own radio in the jetcast dicterony. I found it and downloaded the .pls file. If i open the .pls file with itunes or jetaudio it works fine.... So i thought it works but i wasnt sure so i asked a friend to test my radio. I give him the URL to my .pls file. He downloaded it and opent it with itunes.
Then it says: Opening URL...Connecting.
After a while it doesnt say that anymore. But it doesnt play the radio either... The play counter ro how you call that keep standing still on 0:00.
What do i need to do?

EDIT: Here this is the link to my stream then you can see whats wrong for yourself ;)

Hi jetradio.nl,

Unfortunately I can't test your radio at the moment because my sound card is playing around :p

Maybe you need to read my last reply again, but I actually can't think of anything at mind with your problem. I know that I first encountered a similar problem. I could connect to my radio but not other people. So some things you could try to do:

You could test your base/short link for radio which would be http:// your ip : port or mms:// etc etc ... You can get your ip from www.whatismyip.com

( maybe that jetAudio wax file from directory might not work ;) )

Perhaps also make sure you're broadcasting from that ip

If that doesn't help, as I mentioned, you could try or ask about port forwarding. That was also one of my problems. If you have a router, this might be the problem, that that certain radio port ( e.g 9000 ) is not forwarded or "opened" so you might do that by going into your router configuration.

I understand your problem more now but in this problem, there could be serveral reasons and ways to fix this.

Anything else, just ask. I hope this helps and good luck my friend!

Hi again, you could always search for " ROUTER NAME and MODEL configuration " in google, replacing ROUTER NAME and MODEL with the appropriate or something like that. Maybe if you have a NETGEAR router or with some other ones, you can get straight to the router config by typing in your adress bar in explorer http://192.168.0.1/

Try forums for your router, you might find the exact steps.

You can also here specify what router and model name you use ???

You can't access yourself through global ip when you're using router. You can do that through local ip like http://192.168.1.2.

Attempting to use Itunes to play a .pls file rarely works- Only Winamp (winamp.com/player) or a newer version of Realplayer (Realplayer.com) will work with .pls files...
Check if port forwarding is enabled as well- Make sure that Port Forwarding is enabled on your router as well otherwise it will FRY!   :p

Just Kidding...

Look, If you can't figure it out then contact me or someone else like Radiobroadcaster, eXity, Or Neto.

First you have an issue with associations. Which means that Itunes is set to handle .pls (mp3 playlist) files. To change this association to Winamp or Jetaudio. Save the listen.pls file to your desktop. And right click on it. Do "Open With" choose Winamp or Jetaudio and make sure the "Always use this?" box is checkmarked.

It sounds like you installed Itunes last and didnt uncheck it from associating itself with everyone of your audio files.
