I'm looking into buying a portable mp3 player for my girlfriend... Money is a bit tight at the moment due to us having our first child a little over a year ago (all the money goes to my daughter of course) & basically just gathering info to make a final decision..

I've narrowed it down between a Creative 256 mb player or a Cowon 256 mb player... If anyone has owned both or had some experiences with the Creative mp3 players please post.

I'm hoping to have enough by early April so any speedy response is much appreciated... I was hoping for Valentines day but that definitely isn't happening :( .

Well ... you talking about the CW200, 300 or iAUDIO4?
And what Creative player are you talking about? Rhomba or Nomad MuVo?

I would like to know that before I elaborate any further!

EDIT: I have not owned a Creative player, but I know someone who owned the old Muvo ... expect a slightly biased opinion from me :p but I will try and be as objective as possible!

Have some comments:

CW300 pros:
- Battery run time of about 30 hours on one AA battery
- Great sound quality
- & loads more, but I don't want to sound too biased

CW300 cons:
- No wma support
- No mass storage

Creative Rhomba pros:
- Pretty big LCD
- I think it's Mass storage

Creative Rhomba cons:
- Friggen useless battery! Sounds like it only recharges on a USB port and the Li-Ion battery lasts for 10 (LOL) hours. screw that!
- what the hell were they thinking when the put the audio-jack on the "wrong side" of the player? If you use headphones that have a different connector, it might get really uncomfortable in your pocket!

Creative Muvo NX pros:
- Mass storage
- Nice no cables concept

Creative Muvo NX cons:
- No radio
- small LCD
- controls not as good as on the CW300 (looks like that too me)

If you have any more questions please ask :D
