Any accessories you need are available through the JetMall - http://www.jetmall.net/. Alternately, Cowon sells accessories through eBay.
It is possible to connect through the Host USB Port, but transfer speeds will be slow as this is a USB 1.1 protocol port. The subpack is USB 2.0. After you charge your battery, try upgrading your firmware to 2.10 (no DRM support) or 2.11b1 (with DRM support). Make sure to use the same cable you use to connect to the subpack. The other cable thaqt came with your unit is used to offload pictures from a digital camera through the Host USB Port.
thanks i just bought the sub pack but thank you for your support

I have read about many rubbed off serial numbers on X5's. My searches on Coqon websites seems to indicate that the company cannot supply replacement serial numbers. Why? I have no idea. If your unit ever needs warranty service, though, proof of purchase may all that is needed to start the return/repair process.
Check out www.gomadic.com or http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Hitek-guy.
They have a great range of products including car & ac chargers and dual device ac chargers, e.g, phone and mp3 player apparently none of which require either sub-pack or cradle for operation.
