The D2 comes with JetAudio software that enables conversion for use with the D2. Load up the software and use it's feature to convert video for use with the D2 and this should resolve the issue.

Sounds like firmware isn't fully loaded. Try resetting the player and then reload firmware and wait for the process to complete entirely. If still not detecting try all USB ports.
