How can I install Real codec for jetAudio without dowload?
I install jetaudio 6 Plus when playing real format program requests update (dowload real codec size about 5.56Mb) then everything OK. But I usually format C:\ to install new Windows OS,... install jetaudio each time likes that I must dowload Real codec (5.56Mb) to play real format files (rm, ram,...).
Please, tell me How can I update Real codec without dowload (or dowload one time and use after) Thanks Last edited by cutyteo : 08-21-2004 at 05:09. |

When I'm looking for solution I realise that so many people get problem with playing real files as me.
I wonder why not put-in real codec into JA6 as JA5 has done (setup file will be too large?) or realcodec package's available on site to dowload one time and use after. Explain to everyone, please!!!!!! |

Real Media playing is hard to keep up with, this is a problem in all forums for other players that try and play real files also. I think Real Inc. makes it this way on purpose so we install there player. So possibly jetAudio Inc. is losing interest in playing it and or making it easier for 56k users to get jetAudio up and running quickly.
I tried to install all jetAudio's real files from a back up of them but it didn't work. Either I, We need to know more about saving certain registry entries or certain real sdk media files from some other location other than jetAudio's program folder that I don't know about to make a reinstall of this type work. Solution you may or may not like is to go to networkingfiles.com and download version 5.01 of jetAudio which still has real runtime files, keep it as a backup and use that for first install of jetAudio, then upgrade over it to new version. I do also wish jetAudio would gives us a seperate download for them. Jetisfy |

Thanks for replying.
I also used to do like this: While JA dowload realcodec update I browser to "C:\Documents and Settings\Your name\Local Settings\Temp" (WinXP) and find out file RMFDist.zip 5.56Mb (dowload finish 99-100%) I was intending copy but after update finished it automatically delete too quickly. Anyone help me copy it? Thanx |

Don't worry, I successfully copied the file (RMFDist.zip)
It's no big deal, I copied the file (RMFDist.zip) many times while it was downloading it before it extracts all the files and disappear, I was able to copy it while it was exctracting all the files and found out what it contains, You just have to copy "C:\Program Files\JetAudio\Real" with 3 other files which are in the JetAudio Directory (C:\Program Files\JetAudio\)
1. pncrt.dll 2. pngu3266.dll 3. rmbe3260.dll, that's ofcourse after downloading "RMFDist.zip". Back 'em up & whenever you need them Copy them to where they where. Good Luck ![]() |

not that.
download "Real-Alternative" codec. it's a 6.4MB file. just install it and it just works like you have installed Real-Player in your PC but it's much lighter than the real thing. and works perfectly. then when ever you reinstall windows, just reinstall realalternative. no need to worry for downloads or nything else |

True, Real-Alternative is much better, and be sure to uncheck the "Media Player Classic" in the Setup since JetAudio controls everything.
