My Cowon A3 is Dead

I have the right tip from Radio Shack, but the voltage regulater skips 5v. and goes from 4.5v to 6v. Plugged it into my Cowon A3 and the red light blinks like it's sending some morse code or somethig. However it charges the A3. Very strange. Power used to come one everytime I plug it in to charge. All my information was save, I'd better hurry up and get me a portable storage drive. All is well everything seems to work on my A3.

I have this same problem. I followed the link to the other post, did what it said and I still have the white screen of death. Very disheartening for such an expensive pmp.Any other fixes for this out there?

It seems that if you charge the A3 for an extended period of time using any USB port, the unit freezes with a white screen. I successfully got out of mine by unplugging the PS and letting it sit for a day - came back from work, plugged in PS, red led lit and unit charged as normal. Currently my A3 is functioning normally.

I downloaded the new version 1.27,my Cowon A3 worked for a day or two. The battery seemed to be draining fast so I left it plugged in. I tried to watch a movie and then it died.....paper weight. I tried every thing. Tried to reset it....did not work.

Hello, I purchased a Cowon A3 earlier this year (March 2010) from jet mall.
Today, after installing the new firmware 1.27 my A3 Died. The screen is pure white and nothing is working. .please help me .

Well here's the verdict. I sent my A3 to a COWON rapair center on the west coast. After buying another battery online and installing it they told me my screen had went bad. I don't know yet what caused this. Spent about $160. It is working, but I think I'll move on to a HTC phone or some other line in PMP if it goes out again. Almost half the price of a new one.
Took almost a month total to get this fixed and returned. The did send me my battery back don't know if it is any good or what. Now I have to get another power supply, I don't think the one I used has enough MAs. FYI if it you get the WSOD you might want to save the repair money and get the tochscreen COWONs that are available. I prefer this one for the 60GB capacity and the line in recording feature.
