Please read through before trying to edit anything
For those who were asking about more skins for the q5 app I have found that you can make your own using only paint due to all icons, bars and buttons are only bmp. files you can use more advanced photo editing software but paint will alow you to understand how the skins are put togeher. It will take some time and constant toying in the beginning but when you've finished your first skin you will have a good idea about how they are put together. for those who want to try connect your q5w to you pc and copy the themes off you q5 to you pc and use thmem00 as a template for changes you want to make. and when you done simply copy them back into the skin folder. I should have theme00 in 8 different colors buy the first of the year and will post pics.
I have had success with replacing the Cowon q5w app desktop with any bmp. photo in my collection here is how.
enter the Cowon app file in the windows Explorer(found on start menu)
Go to Hard disc\program files\Q5App\Skin. You will find the three shiped skins
00, 01, and 02. for sake of argument we are using theme00. open the theme00 file\01_background\01_Common. find the file named Main_Background. now rename or delete this file. copy the new picture into this file and rename as Main_Background(same as the original) this will trick the app into displaying your new picture. If you wish to change the other themes you fallow the same steps. It is a good idea before messing with the theme files to copy them to you computer for reinstall. Also you can do all this with you computer when the Q5w is connected.
