New user has questions on iTunes and library media compatibility

Hi,

After much research, I’ve settled on a Cowon D2. I’m holding off till next week or the week after to see if there are any last minute Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals on it.

I have a couple of questions in spite of my research. Forgive me if these questions have been answered in the forum, but I haven’t been able to find the answers if they exist.

1. I’m a former Ipod user and have my entire library collection in iTunes. Will I be able to maintain my collection here and just “drag” them to my D2 when plugged into a USB port?

2. Will I be able to still use iTunes to directly download podcasts, or will I need some sort of conversion method?

3. I’m interested in downloading digital audio books and audio from my public library system. They are in DRM protected WMV and WMA file formats. Will this be a problem downloading to the Cowon? Will I need something to convert it? I hope that’s not the case. I hope I can just simply download to the Cowon and play.

Thank you so much in advance for your assistance with my technical ignorance. This forum has been wealth of information.

Re: New user has questions on iTunes and library media compatibility

afaik, no cowon players support any sort of protected media (DRM or what so ever).

if your collection doesnt contain any such files, and the file formats are supported,
everything shud be ok.

btw, TUNEBITE is a software that can convert drm tracks to normal.

it's really sad how apple forces their users to use apple for ever.
