I notice some people have a link on their websites to the "Server Status".
Here is the page I mean: Server Status: Server is currently up .Stream Status: Stream is up at 56 kbps with 1 of 10 listenersStream Title: "Bluzology" Stream Genre:World Stream URL: http://www.globestyle.com Current Song: Just Keep On DrinkingSource: 127.0.0.1[kick] How do I create that link or page? I tried using http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/9000/ as a link and that did not work. Suggestions? Peace

Hi mrwinky
Use http://[YoutIP]:[Port] for your link. As long as you have the right IP it will work.

I have tried that link format you suggested, but only get DNS errors. I wonder if it is becuase I am behind zonelaram and on a home network. I have no issues with broadcasting, and the computer is in the DMZ.
I tried it without zonealarm and got the same thing. The IP is correct. Ah well.... all things are worth a try Thanks!

Ive no idea what DMZ is.
The server status page is generated on your PC/Server so people need to be able to access your PC. If your on a LAN you need to forward the correct port in your Router. If your using ZoneAlarmPro you need to open the right port in the firewall. Is there any real reason you want people to access the server status page? I dont personaly see the point in publishing it. Shoutcast has a status page but it has... Last 10-20 tracks played, Number of listeners, Links to the stream, Link to the station website, So it serves a purpose but with the jetCast status page you cant even connect to a station via the page and the information contained on the page isnt realy that important to listeners.

I too am using that spawn of the devil ZoneAlarm (see their forum here http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/ ) but why not try http://127.0.0.1:9000/ - it works for me.
(127.0.0.1 is also known as localhost or loopback. Also check out your HOSTS file in Windows, it should look something like this..... Quote:

I may have mispresented the situation. I have no problem broadcasting and having people listen (that i know of) with my network, and zonealarm is the easiest thing to set up for port opening.
Everything appears to be set up corrctly, I just get the DNS error when I use the right IP link. As for why? Well gee, how would I be considered a geek if i didnt try? I just wanted to do it becuase I felt it would be another link on the website (Idle hands thing)Oh, I have a Belkin router, I can set one computer outside the router firewall, thats call the DMZ, or demilitarized Zone but its still on the network.

Who Am I?
I beg to differ there. Your saying you cant access your own server status page or your own stream from the same PC that is running the server. Dont think so ![]()

I did do the 127.0.0.1:9000/ test and did get the correct screen, however it showed my network IP's as incoming and outgoing interfaces. I am sure thats why I couldnt get the page, I was trying with my real world IP.
