M3 Power in Car?

Hi all,

I've just gotten a new car that actually has a working cigarette lighter. I'd like to be able to power my M3 from the cigarette lighter, but I'm not sure how to do it. Can I just use the ordinary power cable that I use with the discman I keep in the car, or do I need some kind of special adapter so as not to fry the M3?

Does anyone know what I need to get to power my M3 from the car?

Thanks

You need to match a couple things with your power adapter. Voltage (5v) Amperage (1.5A) and the size and polarity of the plug itself. You can sometimes get help from someone at a radio shack who knows enough to get you the right equipment. If you look at the wall power adapter that came with your unit, you'll see all the numbers right there, just bring it with you when you go looking.

I wound up buying the iTips/iGo adapter with the A00 tip. The adapter was a bit pricey, but it worked great!

Thanks for your help.

see i didnt like the idea of buying all those adapters and stuff...SOOO...what i got was a thing that plugs into the cigarette lighter...and it has jack inputs! So you can still use the regular cord from the m3, and plug it into the box thing, turn on the power and ur ready to go! No extra stuff to carry around. i always have it in the car so ya!
