Has any of you noticed that?

2. Plastic cover looks tight and some of you (Lucem?) also said it in this forum. It's obvious that need to replace battery will occure from time to time and I'm afraid of inconveniences during removing player out of the cover and putting it back. What are your experiences?

#1 - Yes, there is this problem still as of firmware v1.58b1. I listen mostly to audiobooks and this gets really annoying at times. I bought a friends Zen Micro and it does not have this problem although I would prefer to use the G3.

#2 - Yes, it is tight but is loosening a little as time passes. If you use the player every day it might get annoying quickly but it might loosen quickly too. You can rub a small bit of talc/baby powder on the inside of the case to ease this.

Re: IAudio G3 vs Iriver IFP-799

I've never experienced the G3 cutting off the end of any tracks, be them mp3 or OGG. Then again, I make sure to never use beta firmware; I suggest that everyone else make the same choice. Betas are ripe for bugs, that's why they aren't finalized. I wish Cowon wouldn't release them for the public to use. Firmware 1.51 and 1.55 are both very good versions.

The protective case for my first G3 (512MB) was not exceptionally tight. The one for my 2GB GB was much tighter fitting. The way I loosened it was to heat up the end of it that has the mic window and then pull on it to stretch it.

You rip books by track? I use JetAudio to rip each CD as a single file. 10 files vs. 200 = no brainer.
