JetAudio woes with Firefox & Win98SE

I had been a big fan of JetAudio, since I could listen to RealAudio files without having to deal with the RealAudio application software that I dislike. However, when I installed the Firefox browser, it would no longer autorun JetAudio on my Win98SE computer. JetAudio could be started manually, but FireFox would not start it automatically.

Thinking perhaps I needed a new version of JetAudio, I downloaded and installed the most recent freeware version, only to discover that this version will not start on my computer at all. The program freezes. It doesn't cause my computer to freeze, but the program itself hangs before completing startup.

I don't know if these are two separate problems, or if they are interrelated. I wouldn't mind going back to an earlier version of JetAudio if that would solve my problem. Also, I tried checking the registered file types and could not see any reference to RAM, RA, and RM extensions, so I tried to add them in as new types to be run by JetAudio. However, Windows complained that all three extensions were already taken and I should use a different extension name. This seemed odd to me since I could not see them included in the list of registered file types.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

NeTo has passed the judgement!
To open jetAudio automatically when you opened Realmedia files on firefox, maybe you just needed to setup firefox to do so. On firefox, check under Tools->Options->Download. There you can select if a program should open when downloading RealAudio files.

As for the crash issue, I don't what could causing the problem. Have you tried reinstalling jetAudio?
