I am using a notebook with Windows XP Home SP2 with two accounts: one is an Admin account and the other a less privileged user account which I hope to use for most of my internet activity.
In the Admin account, I can play CDs, streaming audio (with two windows that open up, one of which is JetAudio) and recieve JetAudio updates just fine. This is the account where I initially configured JetAudio after installation. If I close either of the two windows that are opened up for streaming, streaming ceases. I do not know the source of the second window. (I have Real Alternative installed on my notebook but the second window is not Classic MEdia Player.)
In the less privileged account, I can play CDs and recieve JetAudio updates just fine. However, I cannot recieve and play streaming media. The second window described above does not appear. Nor does JetAudio attempt to connect to the internet (I monitor this by configuring ZoneAlarm to ask for permission of apps trying to access the trusted/internet zones). The Preferences window in this account opens with no selections for file type association; I would expect to see the selections from the Admin account. When I choose Check All and Update!, I get a response from Windows that the associations have been made. However, when I reopen the Preferences window and view file type associations, the are blank again. Note that I have gone to Windows Explorer and looked at file associations under Folder Options. The associations are correctly set; presumably, from the initial configuration of JetAudio in the Admin account.
I was previously using RealPlayer and have uninstalled it (to the best of my ability). However, I have not uninstalled RealAlternative.
Thanks,
BKT
