Feature Requested- Add a built-in mobile phone as fast as possible. iAudio already has some parts needed for a mobile phone like Headphone to listen, microphone to speak, a display?? So it shouldn?t be THAT tough. I?ve seen mobile set which costs just $25 but have all basic mobile features. Therefore, if you add mobile feature, it shouldn?t exceed $30 and I think for a iAudio with mobile integrated, you can rise iAudio?s price by $50. You should build a new small device, iMobile [how?s the name? ]By connecting it with the iAudio through the USB port, iAudio will have mobile features. If that?s not possible with the current iAudio then the next iAudio (may be iAduio6) MUST have this feature. Users should be able to connect/disconnect the iMobile unit to suite their current situation. And you should sell the iMobile unit separately so that users can decide if they need the iMobile or not. I think this separate iMobile idea is cool, hope you agree. Other Forum users>> Please discuss about this feature? If many people think that it?s needed, I believe COWON will add this feature. Why add this feature? I believe users of iAudio will love to throw away their mobile phone if iAudio has one built-in. Carrying mobile in one pocket and iAudio in another isn?t my type of idea. Recently I read in a paper that some top mobile manufactures are thinking what they should add in their mobile next. They?ve added polyphones, blue-truth, cameras etc (even mp3 players). Now they are aiming to integrate iPOD (I HATE THAT THING, it always gets more attention than it should get just because it is Apple?s) for their future mobiles. There was no mention of iAudio. iAudio isn?t THAT popular even though it?s better (Remember CNET?s Rating? iPOD got 9 and iAudio got 8). Those are Mobile Phones with integrated DAP (Digital Audio Player) But what I (and hopefully everyone else) want is a DAP with integrated Mobile (you get the idea?) Some Ideas- 1. Don?t integrate some fancy mobile features (like cams), just the MUST things for a mobile. You can make another fancy model but that is after making a simple one. 2. No LOUD ringer is needed. It can alert users through the headphones and if no song is playing, it should vibrate. 3. If it?s hard to add Number keypad, maybe Touch-Screen is the solution. Or better of a on-screen keypad controled by the 5-way joystick. 4. Needless to say, with this feature, iAudio will grow a little by size but try to minimize it as much as possible. 5. The PhoneBook should be fully editable through jetShell. This a MUST too. Last edited by CvP : 03-13-2005 at 14:38. |

Honestly, do you know how big that would be? I think Cowon is gonna stick with the audio business and not go into the mobile phone business. Sounds cool, but not practical, or easy. They have 2 (+) products soon to be released, and they wouldnt add a huge feature like that on an old system..you can't teach an old M3 (huge) new tricks
