Re: convert to mp4 needs ffmpeg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FFmpeg

How much have you given thought to Searching the Fine Web?

MPEG-4 is a video compression algorithm (the extension MP4 is just a container), of which DivX and XviD are variants (so is h264 AVC).

You are highly recommended to pay attention to the friendly guides usually easily found with a little bit of research.

Good luck, and please remember to read the fine manuals if you run into trouble, as well as experiment.

http://www.cowonamerica.com/forums/s...ghlight=ffmpeg

i need ffmpeg!
jetAudio seems to be perfect for me...
the problem is: ffmpeg!
i try to install it via jetAudio but id doesn't work (error 1601)
so i went to the official site, installed a SVN client so i could download it...
i downloaded it but jetAudio still asks for it! should i put ffmpeg in an specific folder?!
please, help me!

i'm getting crazy with this...
if you can't help me, do you know about any software that converts from *.avi to *.mp4 (AVC h.264) inserting subtitle?!

thanks...
---------------------------------
i asked a friend of mine and he said to install this:
http://superdownloads.uol.com.br/download/i25781.html

if you don't speak portuguese this is the direct link to the download:
http://dyn2.superdownloads.uol.com.b...f%2F%2F%3Aptth

i'm downloading it and if everything works out i'll post here...
---------------------------------
turns out it didn't work out with me...

Re: convert to mp4 needs ffmpeg

Please, stop trying to use poor jetAudio for video encoding! (And please, don't crosspost in the same forum!)

Read the friendly guides located at Videohelp.com, which is dedicated to working with video.

MP4Box will package up video files with audio and subtitles, and it goes great with YAMB. If your video isn't already in h264 AVC... then life gets a bit more interesting. x264 should do the encoding (it's a separate step from jamming it into the mp4), and using MeGUI frontend should make the entire process a bit easier to do.

Thank you for reading and doing it right.

Re: convert to mp4 needs ffmpeg

Thank for the help there... /sarcasm.

If they're anything like me, they HAVE searched for help on getting JetAudio to work properly. If they're anything like me, they've submitted a support ticket almost 2 weeks ago without response and are just trying to get help on the forum that is provided by COWON for support. Theres obviously a few of us having the same problem, so simmer down.

Don't tell me not to use JetAudio to convert video. Thats what I BOUGHT it for. Don't tell me that it wasnt meant for video, because if it wasnt, it wouldn't have the feature built in.

And if I hadn't already PURCHASED JetAudio for this very purpose, I would happily use something else. I have used JetAudio before, and it worked fine. It just happens that this installation doesnt, and I simply need some tech support. All software has bugs now and then.

If you've got any ideas on how to FIX MY JETAUDIO , then I'd be glad to hear them. If not, then theres no reason to post responses like that.

Thanks.

Dont shout like that when you dont even know the whole picture. jetAudio is always meant for playing Audio/Video and encoding/converting only audio. Recently when cowon released their iAudios with video support they just put a minimum video conversion facility to use only for iAudio purpose.
This conversion isnt perfect and but it's enough for iAudio.
If you think that video conversion is one of jetAudio's main purpose then you are wrong and i must say then...you have purchased a wrong product.

LoH gave you a very good solution about the video conversion. use it if you like. but using jetAudio for video conversion (for non-iaudio purpose) is a foolishness.

oh! you can use third party tools which ARE meant for video conversion to use with iAudio too...

Re: convert to mp4 needs ffmpeg

I'm having the same problem!

I keep trying to convert to Mp4 and I get erro 1601. And when I try updating jetaudio, I keep getting "Connection Closed with server" before I can get to download.

Please give me some help on resolving the matter.

To those who are complaining about the complaints being made about the software... I don't think that just because jetaudio e primarily an audio converter ou video player that we shouldn't expect its functions to work properly. If they don't work, simply just don't put them there...

If that was the case, then why is there a "Video Converter" included? To convert audio? LOL . When I first purchased this product, the Video Converter was an advertised feature, which I tried and it worked, so I bought it. Now it doesnt, and nobody can seem to provide any support.

Im sorry if I seemed a bit snide myself, but I didnt appreciate being disciplined for expecting a feature in a program I purchased to work, REGARDLESS of the purpose. Theres no way around it, that he may have meant to help, and I can appreciate that, but it was a chastising remark, which frankly has no business here, thank you. LoH was probably good intentioned, but did not give me a solution at all, much less a good one. He told us to use another program. A solution would be helping us fix JetAudio.

Back to the issue at hand, this feature in the program is not working properly, regardless of what Im trying to use it for. How does anyone know that we're not trying to use it for it's intended purpose? Nobody has said they were using it strictly for video conversion. The program would perform in exactly the same way regardless of what we were trying to do. So, again, I open the floor to any suggestions on helping to get my program working.
