Can't play Qick Time .mov files

Why can I NOT play Quick Time files with Jet Audio ver. 6.2.4.7026 Basic?

When I attempt to play a Quick Time file with .mov extension I receive the following error dialogue box

Cant find Quick Time engine.
Please install Quick Time to play Quick Time files.
You can download QuickTime from http://www.quicktime.com

In Jet Audio Preferences > File Type Associations, I have Jet Audio selected as the default player for all media types.
I have checked All ?Popular File Extensions? as well as all ?Other File Extensions? Quick Time.mov files are included on the popular file extensions list.

I clicked the ?Check All? button then clicked the ?Update? button close Jet Audio and then re-boot my system but still no-play Quick Time.

Why should I have to install Quick Time if I already have Jet Audio installed and running?

you need quicktime codecs to play quicktime format file.
for some legal issues, jetAudio don't come with it (it was ok till jetAudio 4.xx)

either install quicktime or better if you install "quicktime alternative"

i always suggest quicktime alternative.

search google.com for it.

I do have QuickTime installed.

Is the "Basic" version supposed to be able to CONVERT to any other video format/file type?

converting to mp3/mp3pro requires the plus version.
for video, i think the plus and basic are same. but im not fully sure.
