What programs are you using to convert DVD to AVI for the A2???
Hello everyone,
I was just wondering what programs you use for: 1) ripping dvds (and what type of file extensio do you rip them as) 2) what programs do you use to convert the ripped dvd file to AVI in order to play on the a2? I used dr. divx but my trial date is expired and I also used the beta version of DrDivx 2.0, but it was EXTREMELY SLOW. If anyone could please recommend the programs and methods they use to rip & convert DVD to AVI, that would be very helpful and appreciative. I'm looking for a program that is quick to convert to avi and produces the best quality on the a2 for video and sound. Btw... using dr. divx allows me to increase the volume by having "audio boost" as a conversion option. if you have that in your dvd converter program... the volume will be nothing to complain again. thanks guys |

AutoGK is all-in-one program for ripping and encoding to AVI.
Just search AutGK from google. You can also find AutoGK manual from http://www.doom9.org/autogk.htm. |

DVD to DivX/Xvid AVI
I have had success using the following programs:
To encode MP4 to AVI you can't beat "MP4cam2AVI" uses Xvid. To rip non CSS VOB to AVI I have had great success with Easy Media Creator 8 which has a DivX 5 license included. Also Intervideo DVD Copy 4 Platinum is the simpliest and outputs great quality, it includes DivX 6 license! But if using DivX 6 you have to use the "Home Theater" option for A2 compatibility. Also the included JetAudio utility works well, but I had to install FFDSHOW in order for it to function properly. FFDSHOW runs in the background and handles the merging of the audio and video. Note that I use these applications under Win XP Pro X64 edition without issue. ![]() I couldn't get Auto Gaurdian Knot to run under X64 edition.

In fact, what I am using is Pavtube DVD Ripper now. It is used to convert DVD to many other video and audio formats, such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, MP3 compatible with iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune.
I prefer the progam as its after-sale service is good. Last month, I encountered a problem and sent it to them, they replied and solved my problem on time. So I think when choosing an appropriate program for ourselves, we should consider not only its quality, functions, but also its after-sale service. |

Forgot to say, the program I mentioned above is for Windows only.
