Which station are you trying to listen to? What kind of internet connection do you have?

Are you sure that all these stations don't work (try a few of them):

Are you using a software firewall, like Norton Internet Security or ZoneAlarm?? If you do, you need to configure them properly in order to listen to broadcasts with jetAudio.

I can't listen any radio streams, but i also noticed that each time i try zone alarm triggers. I know i need to configure it which normally is a breeze for me. I just add the program in or add in the site.

But and bit alarmed but at that. . .

When i trie to add the JetAudio6 Plus program to my zone Alarm Pro 5 (latest update) it triggers a system error, shuts down True Vector which is the Zone Alarm Resident scanner and requires me to restart zone alarm. And follow up attempts cause the same problem.

So I know some folks here are using zone alarm but if someone is using the current pro version I'd like to know how to work this out.

so other info: os is WinXP with sp2, 2.79Ghz and 516MB RAM Pentium 4

Thanks in advance!

Update: I worked it out. Still have no clue why I can't add the program to zone alarms program list (never seen that system error thing). But as for connecting to the Radio finally what I did is this:

I went to the site of the station i wanted to listen to Lounge-Radio.com and i did a save as on their winamp (mp3) playlist link. I saved the link and added it to a new album which added the current direct addresses to it.

That didn't solve the problem with Zone Alarm though. Even after adding jet audio.com to the Firewall trusted section as well as the privacy web address section, I still had to go into my alert log, right click the address that was getting blocked each attempt to play a radio station and add that to trusted as well.

So far so good. If i have any other problems I'll post. Just in case anyone else is having a problem like me.

Question

Seems whatever i did yesterday was just luck because i tried repeating it today and I still can't seem to get the radio to connect without zone alarm blocking it.

Is there a way to set zone alarm where it allows for any ip addresses associated with a station (since they change)? I even tried seting up ranges and that's not working either.

So again if someone who uses ZApro successfully could give me the heads up, I'd be very happy.

PS. Any idea when the ideas of a link to url option will be put into effect?

I Haven't used ZA in a couple years. But have you tried setting it to ask for allowing connection with jetAudio everytime an attempt is made, and not just always allow. Maybe this way when station server IP changes it will ask you and not just block. Yeah I know gotta be by comp when server changes but just an ideal.

Yes I actually don't have that alert set to ask or allow because i go in and do it manually so it's permanent. I think the problem was the ips changing. So it looks what i was overlooking is even though I have the pls file saved to my hd that will update the ips when i go to add that file to an album it adds the ips associated at that time and not the pointer file.

Do you know how i can have it so all my pls radio link files can be in one album so I don't have to call them up from the hd versus my album list.

Yeah i know this sounds confusing. Always does when i try to explain to much.

Just want to make it clear that I did just now get it to connect but i can't use the album or playlist feature in JA to do it (only the open file).

So i'm guessing that goes back to that whole link to url?

If there's a way to use the album with streaming radio let me know, otherwise, I'll just do it this way til they hopefully do the url thing. Thanks.

I don't believe they have implemented what you want yet but, have heard once they are working on it.
