Re: Feature Request/Wish List for iAudio A2
How about support LAME encoded MP3's with VBR NEW ?
Everyone is switching or has switched to encoding MP3's with LAME version 3.97 and VBR NEW - but the A2 stutters with this type of MP3. Please can the firmware be updated? It seems to me that playing MP3's properly is a core feature of the A2?!! Last edited by monkie : 03-09-2007 at 09:00. |

Re: Feature Request/Wish List for iAudio A2
MULTIPLE NATIVE PLAY LISTS
Make the Cowon A2 default playlist (.dpl) able to be saved (with unique name's). 1. Cowon A2 native playlist save (dpl File Recognition) and (open saved play list's). E.G Save Default play list with a number appended to the file name, and make the play list's saved able to be selected from a visible location (instead of hidden system folder). -------------- More Tech explanation ------------------ Save default Playlist on The A2 option, with default name + # 1,2,3 etc (so no file name typing needed), and put them in a visible browsable location. /playlists/music.dpl /playlists/music2.dpl /playlists/movies.dpl /playlists/movies2.dlp etc... One could rename the default playlist file via ones computer to a more meaninful thing later, and playlist's would be able to be made on the fly, with no computer. I.E one can rename the default playlist file now except for the fact that it is in a (unix style) hidden folder and not able to be actioned from the A2 if renamed or moved from the (hidden) .system folder . (the unit is so able to use native .dpl playlists now, a simple O/S hack would sort this out) All Cowon need to do is allow any NATIVE playlist file in any directory (or in default /playlists/ dir) to be played as long as it is a .dpl (Cowon A2 native playlist) file. One could then rename the default play list to what ever via PC later on, and create another/multiple playlists on the fly. It would be better if the unit just added a number to the default playlist file names as saved, so multiple default play lists could be made on the fly then renamed later via PC if required. This would at least allow one to create play multiple playlists on the unit, and select those playlist file. 2. Multiple Custom m3u and windows media PLAYLISTS support (N.B I have found that if I use a none cowon iRiverPMP140 cable I can get full speed USB) 3. BUG FIX Full Speed USB for all PC's O/S and **High Speed USB 2.0 working on Windows Vista**. **Another Vista issue is that copying files from dir to dir within the A2 is very slow. (Slower than USB 1.0 speed) It is much faster (though still USB 1.0 speed) to copy files from the A2 to the PC than to copy files dir to dir on the Cowon using Windows Vista Explorer. N.B for Cowon Tech Support re firmware upgrade request. I read an article that quoted Cowon HQ as saying they were going to issue a firmware update for Vista issue fixes. I would appreciate some feedback from a Cowon rep that they have passed these bugs on to the Cowon firmware R&D dept. Regards Mark Harding Last edited by travelwa : 05-28-2007 at 04:42. |

Re: Feature Request/Wish List for iAudio A2
I voted for MKV w/ subtitles (anime fans?), but m3u playlists are equally important. Perhaps I'm out of line in saying this, but playlists seem like a really low-tech function. Isn't it a tad absurd that such a sophisticated device would only have an on-the-go playlist? Couldn't one of the fine engineers at Cowon slap together playlist functionality over coffee? Cowon strikes me as a company genuinely concerned with its customers, so I hope this is not a cheap trick to boost sales of its next-gen music players.
Of course m3u may be more challening than I realize. It's just hard to imagine how. |

Re: Feature Request/Wish List for iAudio A2
DVD CAMERA LENSE OPTION + DIGITAL TV TUNER OPTION (Many USB TV tuners exisit now adapt one)
Turn it into a HD video recorder camera. Optional usb camera lense purpose built. As the A2 works as a HD DVD recorder as is, I assume that it would be one small leap to add an optional usb lense, in order to turn it into a full blown hard disc DVD recorder camera. Also the USB TV (dmb) rest of the world digital tv option in PAL and NTSC would be nice. USA Europe Australia Canada ver's Regards Mark Harding Last edited by travelwa : 05-28-2007 at 04:43. |

Re: Feature Request/Wish List for iAudio A2
A TV tuner accessory would be a great option. Either built into the unit or as an added accessory like a cradle/dock or USB add on.

Re: Feature Request/Wish List for iAudio A2
Personally, I'm surprised that MPEG2 support is not a more popular request. This would allow me to simply transfer TV from my media center and watch it on my A2 without having to encode it to MPEG4.
