Basic Return Policy

Unless otherwise stated, you have 30 days from invoice date (regardless of when you actually took delivery of the product) to get a valid RMA from us and get your product to a shipper to return back to us. It does not have to be back in our warehouse within 30 days, but it does have to be in the possession of the shipper (along with the valid RMA).
In case you want cash refund with a valid RMA, the shipping and handling charge will be deducted from your refunded amount. *
* For refunds made to orders that qualified for and had 'Free UPS Ground Shipping' the amount deducted from your refunded amount will be $8.50. For all other orders, the amount applied towards the original shipping method will be deducted from your refund.
COWON America, Inc. is not responsible for any cost incurred during return shipment(s) including delivery charges, and brokerage fees, of merchandise(s) for Cash refund, repair, or replace.
COWON America, Inc. does not pay for the return shipping of defective merchandise. We will split the shipping costs with the customer. The customer agrees to pay to send the item back to us and we will consequently repair or replace the component and ship the item at no charge back to the shipping address specified in your account.
RMA numbers expire and will not be valid within 1 month from the date we issue. Customers whom are sending units after 1 month will need to contact us to re-issue RMA numbers.
Many of the items we sell have Special Return Policies. See the appropriate policy below to see if items you purchase are affected.
Refunds may take up to 1-3 weeks to process.


Returns Must Meet ALL Applicable Criteria

If your returned product does not match all applicable criteria listed below, it will be rejected by our Returns Warehouse and returned back to you. Consequently, your RMA will be nullified and any credit request will be denied and any replacement order will be cancelled. Our arrangements with our suppliers and manufacturers allow us no room to make exceptions.
     
All returns must include the following:
  1. Original packaging (manufacturer's box, styrofoam, plastic bags, etc.)
  2. Original intact UPC barcode. Do not cut out the UPC code (for rebates) until you have examined and tested the product to your satisfaction. Removal of the UPC code voids any possibility of return regardless of RMA or credit request status.
  3. Valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). See RMA Conditions, below.
  4. Original packing slip. Do not mail or dispose of the packing slip (for rebates) until you have examined and tested the product to your satisfaction.
  5. All accessories (transformers, antennas, remote controls, batteries, software disks, etc.)

Manufacturer documentation (manuals, warranty cards, registration information, etc.) The RMA number must not be written on the original manufacturer's packaging or box. Please write the RMA number on the label used to return the item or the brown shipping box. Items received with any writing on the original manufacturer's packaging or box will be refused and returned to you without credit approval.

No returns of any type will be accepted without a RMA number
We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. All authorized returns must include a shipment tracking number or register/certified receipt.

Software Products
All the software products are not cash refundable or exchangeable.

Non-iAUDIO products
Non-iAUDIO products are not cash refundable in any case. Only defective ones within valid warranty period will be exchanged with exact same items on customer’s request and approval by us.

Notice of Return Tracking number
Please send your package to us via UPS or Federal Express to ensure prompt delivery, and record the tracking Number for your protection.
If you can e-mail us your return tracking Number, it will speed up the processing of your credit.

Each product is fully guaranteed by the manufacturer. Complete warranty is included with each product.


Physical damage policy


Physical damage to any product purchased at COWON America.com will effectively void our General Return Policy.


One-Year Limited Warranty for iAUDIO Products

Warranty Coverage
COWON America.com's warranty obligations for the iAUDIO is limited to the terms set forth below: COWON America, Inc. warrants the iAUDIO product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase ("Warranty Period").

If a defect arises and a valid claim is received by COWON America, Inc. within the Warranty Period, at its option, COWON America, Inc. will (1) repair the product at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product.

COWON America, Inc. warrants replacement products or parts provided under this warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of the replacement or repair for forty five (45) days or for the remaining portion of the original product's warranty, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes COWON America, Inc.'s property. When a refund is given, your product becomes COWON America, Inc.'s property.

* If your LCD display has defective pixels, it will not be considered faulty until the number of defective pixels meet or exceed the amount of 3. If your display meets this criteria your lcd is deemed faulty and would be replaced if within the 30 days from the date of purchase if requested. For all units past the 30 day return policy the 1 year factory warranty will take into effect.


EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
This Limited Warranty applies only to the iAUDIO product manufactured by or for COWON that can be identified by the "iAUDIO" logo affixed to it. This Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-COWON America, Inc. (COWON) hardware product or any software, even if packaged or sold with the iAUDIO product. Non-COWON America, Inc. manufacturers, suppliers, or publishers may provide a separate warranty for their own products packaged with the iAUDIO product.

Software distributed by COWON America, Inc. is not covered under this Limited Warranty. Refer to JetAudio, Inc's Software License Agreement for more information.

COWON America, Inc. is not liable for any damage to or loss of any programs, data, or other information stored on any media contained within the iAUDIO product, or any non-COWON America, Inc. product or part not covered by this warranty. Recovery or reinstallation of programs, data or other information is not covered under this Limited Warranty.

This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or non-COWON America, Inc. products; (b) to damage caused by service performed by anyone other than COWON America, Inc.; (c) to a product or a part that has been modified without the written permission of COWON America, Inc.; or (d) if any COWON America, Inc. serial number has been removed or defaced.

Note: Before you deliver your product for warranty service it is your responsibility to backup all data, including all software programs. You will be responsible for reinstalling all data. Data recovery is not included in the warranty service and COWON America, Inc. is not responsible for data that may be lost or damaged during transit or a repair.
